17 JanThe Michael and Cecilia Foundation Demonstration School’s First Prom
Prom is a rite of passage,it’s a day in every child’s life that they never forget, a day full of hopes, dreams, excitement of what to wear and anticipation of what to expect. This was the excitement that filled the air as the first graduating students’ of Michael and Cecilia Foundation Demonstration School arrived The male students came in their suits and where ushered to the red carpet for their photoshoot, the girls appeared all looking grown up and dressed in beautiful gowns just like cinderella going for the ball. They had great time posing for the camera, laughing and teasing each other.

After which they were ushered into the auditorium to take their seats.Mr.Gbenga Adewale the MC invited the outgoing Head Girl Blessing Omoyibo to give a few words about her high school experience. Blessing said “she has had a great experience in the MCFDS, had made some good friends who she would keep in touch for life , had the best training from the school”. She wished her friends the best in life and hope to see them all at the top.

Next the Head boy Arthur Emecho was called to give his experience. Emecho said “It was a fantastic experience; we have had various experiences as friends and as enemies, we quarrel and we patch things up, MCFDS has taught us discipline, academic excellence and talent exposure. I believe this circle of friendship won’t end here,we meet to path and we path to meet. After his wonderful speech all the students gave him a standing ovation. A few graduands were asked about the things they would miss about their Head Boy, some said they would miss his creativity, other his passion for music and his leadership skills.

The Co-Founder Dr. Cecilia Ibru was represented by the Executive Director, Mr. Joseph Bitrus advised the graduands to be the best as they go forward to break grounds for future opportunities for themselves. He reiterated the vision of the Co-Founder that they become top student and personality in their field of endeavor, anywhere they find themselves because they are Global citizen and not just students of Agbarha. Each one of them should see themselves as a Global citizen and can be on top tomorrow in America, in the UK or anywhere in the world. “I believe the sky is not the limit; the sky is the starting point for you, remember there are other opportunities beyond the sky don’t mess up your career, don’t mess up your future”. He concluded by saying dream big, like Obama would say, “yes we can”, there is nothing impossible, if you believe it then you can achieve it. Theophilus gave a touching speech about his experience in MCFDS by saying MCFDS is a perfect picture of what a school should be like, he thank God for giving me wonderful friends and it’s painful to leave but he believes their friendship will still continue outside the walls of MCFDS.

Eke Janice and her team performed to the admiration of the graduands and thrilled everyone with their beautiful dance steps.
The highlight of the event was the selection of the first Prom king and Queen Mr. Christopher Emeka, called on the prom graduands to vote for who they want to be their prom king and Queen. Arthur Emecho emerged the Prom King after scoring the highest vote and Charris emerged the Prom Queen after scoring the highest vote in a keenly contested election process.
After which the dance floor was declared open for everyone to join the prom king and Queen as a they all danced into the night.
It was a fabulous experience.
